We are between Ozankoy and Catalkoy. We have been receiving water regularly although infrequently. At the moment about every five days. The last time was on Monday night. This is only for information. I'm not bragging!!!

dekski1, you will see from other threads on this subject that Alsancak varies considerably from area to area. Some people have it 24/7, some like us have it every 4 or 5 days and obviously like yourself, some people are not receiving it at all. Time for you to have a face to face with the Mayor I suspect. Others on this forum had to do the same and be a little forthright!!!

My tanks ran dry yesterday for the first time in 5 years, not had any water for at least 2 weeks,I have a tanker coming today(hopefully).
It's the worst summer for water in Ozankoy that I can remember.
I appreciate it is a scarce commodity-but frustrating when I read on other threads of folk having high pressure water 24/7.
They need to get the infrastructure right before they build any more huge hotels.
And what's happened to the water from Turkey?
Rant over.

I think you have hit the nail on the head.

Water supplies to new hotels are draining the water table and the hotels are prepared to pay twice the amount of money per tonne to guarantee their supply.

As for the water from Turkey-CT reported last week that it will come by the end of September but others are saying December/ January.

I only started checking my tanks when the thread about water shortages started, they always seem to be full or nearly full, I also have a separate village tap which can be intermittent in summer its still producing for a few hours in the evening occasionally all seems very strange.

A lot depends on how many people live in a property, how many showers per day, do you use dishwasher frequently, or like us, wait until it is full to busting before switching on, same with washing machine, whether your garden resembles the Sahara aor you;re managing to keep plants alive and whether tanks are used for topping up the pool. Next to us is a holiday let. For one month there were never less than 4, then six, then seven people in residence, consequently the two 2 tonne tanks were having to be filled up virtually every other day (or so it seemed,) plus the pool. With that many people diving in and water splashing everywhere, the overflow pool needed frequent topping up. Usually our water, arrives, when it does, during the night so I've ended up watering the garden at 11.30 at night on occasions. However, we can never be absolutely sure when its going to be turned on.

Whereas I have been watering at 6.30 in the morning. Water seems to come overnight mostly and stops about 7 or 7.30. Central Ozankoy did have water for most of the day last weekend but I suspect that was because it was needed for the Carob Festival.I

Of course I do not have a pool, and grow mainly drought resistant plants

I put the most precious plants by the kitchen door so I can keep them going on washing up water - just like we used to when there was a drought in the UK! Next thing someone will be telling us to share a bath with a friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RR, a bath is a waste of water - shower with a friend! Now that is not only good on saving water, its much more fun! or so I am told - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.
