Indian Restaurant
Hi, has anyone been to the Indian restaurant on the Karaman road (where pastamania used to be) sorry didn't catch the name of it when driving by. Feedback (excuse the pun) would be good and a telephone number if anyone has it.
Many thanks

Re: Indian Restaurant
I haven't been since Pastamania left, but I understand that the previous Indian Restaurant operators (before it became Pastamania) - when it was called 'Maharaja' - are the people behind the new establishment. I did look at this thread previously, in the hope that someone could say whether it is as good as it used to be - but I'll just have to wait until you've been

Sorry don't do Indian, but had family staying and they decided on take away, portions were tiny, chicken massala (spelt wrong) was like chicken soup, and none were impressed and nan bread was what I think we call Japati, I enjoyed my Cod Baba though that night, but as in all things it is always best we try ourselves, eating in is always the best bet!

Re: Indian Restaurant
We went last weekend, the food was about average and well priced, but the service was absolutely shocking, there were so many waiters they were almost falling over each other yet we waited 30 minutes before they even came to take a drinks order. The noise in there was almost unbearable, everything seemed to echo, maybe because it is such a big place. Sorry to say we won't be rushing back, and before anyone asks, yes, we did tell the manager when we were paying the bill.

Try Al Shaheen in Karakum, we have always found the food good and prices to match, staff lovely and Imtiaz is the perfect host.

Thanks for the replies which unfortunately all sound fairly negative, did think I would give it a try but now, maybe not. Better stick to Nosheen perhaps.

We go to the Punjab regularly - gret curries and very helpful, friendly staff. Would recommend highly.

Ah well, I'll just have to risk it at some point.
If all is not well, I'll bend the Manager's ear, and give him the benefit of my experience - he'll love that!

Re: Indian Restaurant
Hi all,
Went for lunch today and it was very good. We did not have starters but two chicken main courses which included rice, nan bread (it is the real thing - not chapatti), poppadums and selection of pickles together with 3 beers and a large bottle of water came to 63TL which we think is very reasonable. The portions were more than enough for us but for big eaters starters would do the trick and they are all reasonably priced at between 6 and 10TL. It was not busy when we went but there are plenty of tables and lots of parking space. So yes, glad we gave it a try and will definitely go back again

Re: Indian Restaurant
We can echo the last poster -we were also there for lunch and enjoyed what we had. Liked the popadums etc which came instead of bread, shared a mixed starter plate and had different main courses - lovely and hot (as in warm not chilli hot) and mine was sufficiently spicey hot - and a little more than we could eat - will not have a starter next time!!
