i think it's what i've known as kolabob or a spelling something similar. always have it in the wednesday market and most local markets. if you recognise it when you see it just ask what the local name is for clarification. glad you found it though.

KC,if that's an answer to me,I obviously know what celeriac is! Original poster asked for translation of it! I translated it as Kereviz,someone replied that this is the Turkish for celery! My question was meant to be asking for correct translation for celeriac! I was trying to be helpful to original poster.

I thought that someone already said: the Turkish word for celery and for celeriac is the same - kereviz.

I can understand why the name is the same, because lets face it, celeriac has the same flavour, just somewhat milder. I love it plus is high in fibre and very good to eat. If in doubt, just point at what you want!!
