Re: Paypal
I made a purchase 2 days ago , with my PayPal account and all was fine. Mine however is Paypal uk.
I have also had a few phishing emails since using my PayPal account from PayPal Inc so clearly fraudulent.

Re: Paypal
In case somebody is interested the following gives some information about paypal's withdrawal from the Turkish market
http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/why-pa ... sCatID=407
In case the link does not work just google for the headline of the link.
There is more to be found in this newspaper.
Similar to judyvin I have a foreign paypal account, in Germany. Both my German and Turkish (North Cypriot) addresses are given and approved by them. I receive regularly items from Europe to here paid via pp and never had any problems. The point is, as I see it, that pp withdraws the amounts I owe due to my purchases from my German bank account. In case I would not have a foreign bank account I just would see that on my account with pp there are sufficient funds to cover my shoppings.
Using pp since a couple of years I never had any problem with them, imho a very easy, fast and reliable way to pay or receive money. Also never ever any phishing mails.

Re: Paypal
Someone has also told me they have made a purchase from ebay useing paypal, they also told me thier hsbc card has a UK address.
We have lived in the TRNC now for 22yrs and the address on our UK hsbc card is PO box girne mersin 10 Turkey. this may be the problem.
When I go to pay it comes up with a Turkish PP window, and yes I am a UK Paypal user.

karmels, can confirm this. Although being with paypal Germany, during the "paying process" the PP window sometimes appears in Turkish language, although never buying in Turkey.

Re: Paypal
Paypal was suspended about 3 months ago for TRNC and Turkey. Which actually means - you will not be able to pay, using a Turkish/TRNC credit card linked to your paypal.

Re: Paypal
karmels, unfortunately not at the moment. I do not think the window is the problem. When the window in Turkish appears I can still log in and pay through my German PP account.

Re: Paypal
Credit card country of origin matters, not address (i.e. a Turkish/TRNC card will not work).karmels wrote:Our credit card is a HSBC UK card, it is our address which is TRNC.iv_cyprus wrote:Paypal was suspended about 3 months ago for TRNC and Turkey. Re: Paypal
Seems like they have also suspended credit cards from Turkey on their worldwide transactions. There is no option on country dropdown for Turkey.

Yes, it is a two-way restriction. Paypal sent a mass mail few months ago when it was about to be restricted to warn about it.
