Does anyone know for property purchase if the UK police letter has to go to the office of the London representative for stamping. If so is there a way of doing it by post?

Thanks

I believe you are referring to the CRB checks now called the DBS [Disclosure and Baring Service]. These can be done online by going to the
DBS checks (previously CRB checks) - GOV.UK
You apply to the Scotland office for the check, it's about £25 per person, if you do it through an agent it will be double, our's took about 14 days to come back, we did as above, brought them with us.
Hope that helps.

Original documents obtained from the authorities in the United Kingdom have to be certified in our Consulate in order to be valid in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The above comes from the London representative website this is what I am seeking clarification on.

Speak to your advocate, we submitted our DBS forms to the Ministry in August uncertified and there's been no problem with our purchase.

Me too. Lat year I obtained my police certificate as described through the gov website in the UK, brought it to NC and submitted with my PTP application. PTP was duly approved, so no need at all to get the certificate certified.

And another - got police form, sent it to TRNC (without certification) and it was submitted with my PTP application by my notar - similarly, no problem, but when earlier getting/providing my notar with a POA, that had to be certified in London by the TRNC office.

No it does not need certifyting at TRNC Representative office. You can go online to https://www.acro.police.uk/Police_Certi ... nline.aspx

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if you need a police letter from uk for the permission to buy process if you've lived in Cyprus for more than 10 years?

I bet you do as it will be a requirement. I have been here since 2004 and even though my in and outs show I had not left the island I had to provide one which does prove difficult if you have not got enough proof, they like 3 things, bank statement, bill in your name etc. Luckily when I did go back in February i popped into my local police station and explained my problem and hopefully they have put me on the right path for success!
