Is it too early for processionally caterpillars?
I've just seen (only 2) caterpillars trundling across the pavement one behind the other. Is it not too early for processionally caterpillars? They looked the same as I have seen in previous years but I thought in the spring??

Not sure but that would be very early. I saw them in February this year and I though that was early. Are you sure the were the proccessionery caterpillars?

Hi Whataview,
February seems to be the month they appear.

Suggest you take a very close photo and check ıt out on web. If ıt ıs a couple of rogue PC. please kill them ımmediately It could be they are a couple of scouts looking for another tree to decimate!! Hence poison animals and humans alike

Thanks for responses, I was too busy getting dogs away just on case to take a photo, they look very similar to PC but maybe a shade darker after numerous searches it could be a tiger moth caterpillar but will be vigilant anyway.
