Re: Sterling rallying?
Good news for people living here on pensions. Doubtful that the world thinks so highly of Carney, if so when he goes Sterling will drop like a stone. More likely due to High Court decision.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: Sterling rallying?
Sterling remains a weak and volatile currency after BREXIT.
It is certainly not rallying. Its 20% down from its well supported , strong position of 5 months ago.
I expect sterling to fall again after next week and certainly in December when USA interest rates rise.
Furthermore sterling will further decline in New year when UK inflation bites.
May 5th 2017 is rock bottom date so hedge your funds and bets if you feel like it.

Looked on the website for moneyxchange Karakum to see the latest to find that it has not been updated since Tues 8th. Why bother having a website with rates that are out of date?

Just love all you guys waving your bits of paper with "peace in our times" written all over them! Short memory's, nothing has happened yet so enjoy the good times while they last - it was 4.27 on the 23rd of June, not back there yet.

Re: Sterling rallying?
Forgive me if, being a simple soul and completely missing the point, but does this mean that the great vote for Brexit - to take the UK out of the EU and therefore allow free trade with anyone they chose - now has taken the UK to the point where it will have to pay the EU to be able to trade with it????
Is that not a bit like being an annual member of a health club, then leaving to save money, yet still wanting to go back in and pay for every activity we want to use on an individual basis at a higher tariff than the annual fee?
Or am I starting to think too much like a Cypriot these days - lol.

Waddo it could work both ways.....if tariffs are put in place then surely the UK would do the same would they not ?
Take cars for instance over 2.5m cars were sold in the UK in 2015 with about 50% being company cars and a huge amount being German & French would the likes of Mercedes. Audi, BMW, VW, Citroen, Peugeot, Renault be happy with the EU if we slapped tariffs on their cars coming into the UK. ?
Lets not forget its not all one way as many would have you believe.

Re: Sterling rallying?
If it was back to its pre referendum value it would be well over 5 TL to the pound now. I understand what you mean but the purchasing power is relevant to the dollar/TL rate.TRNCVaughan wrote:£ just gone through the 4.50tl mark.
