Esentepe/Tatlisu Defibrillator Update
This is to give members an update of our earlier post at the beginning of October. Briefly there are 5 defibrillators sited since 2012 in the Esentepe and Tatlısu areas. During our normal monthly checks we found that the ones sited at the Esentepe Belediyesi, Red Fort and NE +SE, Tatlısu were low battery and replacements were needed. It is probably safe to say that the ones outside Sinya/Almond Tree Restaurant and Ömrüm Pharmacy will need replacing very soon as well.
The average cost of a replacement battery is £150 and replacement pads approx £60 each (The pads are due to expıre end 2017 early 2018).
We had a spare battery and this was used to replace the battery outside the Esentepe Belediyesi. We had in an emergency fund 631TL (approx £165), and this has been used to purchase a battery due to arrive next week. This wıll be used to replace the one at Red Fort.
Hence we made an appeal for help and donations on this website and another one through Cyprus Today.
To date we can confirm the following:
£100 from anonymous Tatlısu :
£10 anon. Esentepe :
£40 Mark, Esentepe :
A battery (this was used to replace NE & SE Tatlisu
210 TL from the residents of Sevilla Tatlisu , Küçük Erenköy
90TL from a collection made at Coconut Bar, (incidentally the residents of the site are getting together among themselves, to buy a defibrillator for their site. A great idea many more sites and estates could follow their lead) .
£300 from anonymous Hafiz village, Tatlısu.
£50 from Ömrüm Pharmacy.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the above who made these generous donations.
We are also hoping that another member who is coming out end of Nov who has said he would bring out a battery and replacement pads . We have had a few enquires from people who said they will be happy to approach local restaurants and bars for help.
Another lady coming out in December has said she will make a cash donation.
A person who owns a Company is moving out in January and would be very happy to sponsor a defib.
A local business as also shown an interest in sponsoring a defib.
From the Cyprus Today, no donations yet but we have had 3 volunteers who said they will help us do our monthly checks.
We are in a much better position than we were a month ago, but not out of the woods yet. We have ordered another battery and this will be with us in 2 weeks time. Our emergency fund total held at the Esentepe Ko-op Bank, now as at 7th November reads 1595.50TL.
Once again thank you to all those who have helped keep these vital machines serviceable.
It will always be an ongoing situation, we don't really want to go cap in hand again in 4 years time so anyone who wishes to make a donation or help regarding fund raising can either contact us on this website via private message or email at sabrerich@icloud.com.

Thank you once again Lee, your battery will be used to replace the ones in the remaining defibs when required. The pads will be kept in stock until required end of 2017. Once again our sincere thanks for your help.

When this first came up I wasn't planning on coming out till May, as things have changed I am also flying out on 24th November & am quite happy to bring a battery over.
If you can supply details again & where to order I will organise one.

Re: Esentepe/Tatlisu Defibrillator Update
Just to give a another update of what has happened in the past week or so. Two Kibkom members have donated to us a battery which came from Cally and a battery plus set of pads from Lee666. We thank both of these people for their kind generosity. One of batteries was used to replace the one outside Ömrüm Pharmacy which was "bleeping". The other battery will be used to replace the one outside Sinya/Almond Tree Restaurant which is expected to start "bleeping" at any time.
The pads in the Defibrillators will need replacing again in Oct 2017 and the one set of pads donated by Lee 666 will be kept for then (unless used in the meantime). With nearly 1600TL in our Defibrillator Account we are in a much better position to replace equipment when needed. The replacement equipment for the future is the most important requirement for us. Though we are aware and would like each Defibrillator location to have better signage ( i.e.AED sign) to make people aware they are there, but this will cost money . We need to prioritise what our Emergency Fund is best suited for.
We hope in the New Year to hold some Fund Raising events in the Tatlisu/Esentepe areas to hopefully boost the Fund and maybe raise enough money to have the AED signs made and sited.
If anyone wishes to make a donation or can help with any Fund raising events you can either PM us or email Sabrerich@ icloud.com.
