Did ours this morning, price as above. Only needed Muhtar's letter, passport and stamps. All done and dusted in an hour.

Still waiting for news on permanent residency - anyone had any success yet?

Waddo, I admire your patience and positivity on the subject, or is your tongue firmly in your cheek?

Not tongue in cheek at all, the latest information from the BRS is from March of this year and leaves everything hanging! I would have thought that some action would have been taken by now and a new report would be most welcome for those of us who remain interested in living out our lives here.
I guess the only thing to do now is go and speak to the people in charge myself and find out what is happening - if anything. Over the past 9+ years I have realized that the mills of North Cyprus not only grind exceeding slow but that also there are many shortcuts to obtaining the bag of flour - all I have to do is find one and I will be happy. It always amuses me that people will fly away to the UK every 90 days at a cost of £200.00 x 4 every year so that they can SAVE 566TL every 2 years - beyond belief! That and they don't/won't pay the cost of a TRNC driving license to stay legal but will continue to moan about the state of the country. Poor grandchildren, they have a lot of burden to carry on their small shoulders as they are nearly always the reason given why people have to go back to UK - lol.

Totally agree with you waddo, why pay and go to all the trouble of exiting this island every 90 days just to save a few lira however in respect of remaining here for ever I don't think many would be in that position, I think most would live here for a period of time and of course enjoy the country whilst young enough to do so before returning to the UK.

We've already picked the spot where we're going to plant 'im
There won't be a headstone, just a pole with a DF loop on top....
...and maybe a couple of old car batteries
