Gas tank Permit

Hi,
I am beginning the process of obtaining a gas tank permit, I need an original stamped site map, which you get from the Ministry of Interior in Nicosia on the 4th Floor in the Mapping Office, apparently it near the MFA?

Can anyone please help with directions, I have no idea where the mapping office is?

Mollie, the Ministry of Interior's office is in the same building as the Immigration Office where you apply for the annual/biannual 'visitor' stamp in your passport. Do you know how to get there, as I do not know where you live to give you directions?

Mollie, enter the building by the front, main entrance. Up the stairs, the Minister's office is on the first floor. I guess you have to go up the same stairs for level 4 if that is where the mapping office is. Good luck with gaining the necessary paperwork for the issue of the certificate.

Mollie, just be aware that all gas permits are renewable in December (not sure of the date) we got ours in August and there is no pro rata payment, you just pay the full annual fee, and we have to renew in December.......might be worth just checking...!!

Thank you for the advise. The reason we are now getting one is that our supplier Intergas wont deliver if we cannot produce one, its the first time we have ever been asked to produce a permit in over 10 years, not sure when the permits came in? Of course the other alternative is to go with gas bottles.

We have had ours three years now, it was in the press and on here that the law had been implemented and that gas companies would need to see them before delivering gas. Seems like the gas companies are finally doing just that.

We moved here in 2004 and a permit was required then. We dodged getting one until earlier this year, when we got two - one for this and one for last year. Very cheap and easy process to get one providing you tick all the boxes.

I honestly can't see why you wouldn't need one for a 500 Ltr tank.

You'll find out when you need it refilled. If they do it without any hassle then you don't need one.

Permit Information and Hassle Free Service Offer...

How to Obtain for yourself:
(to see CDS hassle free offer, see bottom)

First, you will need to take a copy of your gas contract, plus a copy of your Kocan, your stamped site map and a receipt for your fire extinguisher to the Kaymakamlik building which is on the left passed the Kyrenia Law Courts, They are open between 8am and 3pm.
You can ring them on 0392 8156393 for more information but here are a few notes:
• On arrival in the building (their office is on the left passed reception) you will have to fill out a form. Take the serial number(s) of your gas tank(s) as these are required on the form.
• If you do not have an original stamped site map, you must get one from the Ministry of Interior in Nicosia on the 4th Floor in the Mapping Office for 19.50 TL before midday. Its is near the MFA. You will need to take your Kocan.
• If you do not have a fire extinguisher ask us, we have them for sale at our office in Catalkoy. For most people a receipt for a 6Kg powder fire extinguisher is all that is required required but it is worth checking first before buying a new one.
• The Fire brigade normally come to inspect your tanks etc within two weeks. If you ask, a temporary permit can be given to fill your tanks once if you are very short of gas.

CDS Hassle Free Service:

-Advise what paperwork is required.
-Fill out the forms in our Catalkoy Office.
-We have new extinguishers or can organise service.
-Our staff will go to all of the offices required and apply on your behalf.

Jonnie - you do need one for a 500litre (280Kg) tank.
I did mine recently and it costs 37.25TL for the permit.

Strange that, I had a tank installed in early 2006 and nobody asked for a permit. At that time, I never even knew they existed.
