Hi.

Does anyone know where it is possible to buy any plastic curtain rail ? ( in Kyrenia preferably )

We are looking to hang a curtain between 2 rooms and the width of the opening is 3.7 metres. We are just looking for something cheap and cheerful and not looking to spend a fortune on it !

Many thanks

Moonrakers, being a "Cheap & Cheerful" chap myself - due to financial circumstances when we first got here in 2007 - and having faced the same problem them in finding any sort of curtain rail that would support the weight of a curtain heavy enough to stop the drafts and keep the heat in one room, we did this:

On the Wednesday market we found some double bed throws of substantial material in nice "Middle Eastern" patterns, they were not expensive in those days but have gone up a bit since. We bought two of them because we had two doorways to cover. My wife put header tape (whatever that is) on the tops and we had instant (heavy) curtains.
Now my part - I looked everywhere for curtain rails and apart from expensive wooden things there was nothing to be had! Ended up with half inch steel water pipe that I painted with hammerite and hung above the doorways - that was strong enough to hold up anything - found some "Finials" and fitted them to the ends. Hung the heavy curtains on those during the winter months and hung some flimsy, see through material on them in the summer months!
Believe me, it was a cheap option and it did the job better than anything we have done since.

Just a thought for you - the plastic stuff you can get now may now stand the test of time or weight!!
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Thanks Soner & Waddo for your replies.

We would not go to Oral Perde as we have had bad experiences with them.

Waddo. your suggestion is very inventive ! Necessity is the mother of invention !

We will try it.
