I sometimes read the Daily Express news on the internet. One of their articles shows a "What countries are in the EU" slideshow. The beautiful view of the Republic of Cyprus is the old harbour of Girne / Kyrenia. I have written to them pointing this out and giving the TRNC tourism industry a plug.
This beautiful part of the island is in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and whether the EU like it or not, is not part of the island that is controlled by the EU. As you can see the scenery is beautiful. The cost of living, including holidays are cheaper than in the South as the currency is based on the weak Turkish lira instead of the expensive Euro.
I'm just publicising this for interest's sake. Maybe the TRNC tourist industry might like to give this even more publicity

Not very good reporting as the daily express know where it is as they were behind the memorial in the British ceremony.

Of course the ROC would maintain that Girne IS in the ROC...
It's obvious which side the Express is on!
