The gas permit office said this morning that a date for permit renewals to commence has not been given as the new price tariff has not been announced.
To find out when it can be renewed you will have to ring 0392 8152117 ext. 115 or 124 on a regular basis or check at the permit office where the permit was obtained.

This is the usual way they do this. Every year it means going in every day in the last week of December when it is announced.

Thank you for your reply, its for those who don't know and who might waste a journey going to the office.

Wasn't meant as a criticism more a 'wish they would get their act together and announce it sooner' kind of thing as once it is announced, if you don't get it renewed in the small window they give you then you are fined.

Thank you once again. If you knew these facts perhaps you might have shared them beforehand including the cost of the penalty for late payment so that everyone may know. If I thought you were being critical you would know about it.

Went in this morning, took 1/4 hour to park, only to be told, not today, could be tomorrow, but probably Thursday. After taking 20 minutes to get out because no one would give way, will wait til next week and swallow the 15% fine. Absolutely ridiculous.

I'm absolutely speechless.

It's just a total shambles..

No consideration for those travelling into Girne from a distance.

Will be leaving mine now until next week.

I've just raised the white flag.

Went in at 2 p.m. 3 Jan.
No queue - out within five minutes.
Paid 42.23TL - who cares about 1.23TL fine if it save you queuing for one hour on 30 Dec?

All I can say paul90 is,we were in there at 11-40 on the 3rd Jan,they point blank refused to renew ours due to the fact they were awaiting to see whether they had to fine late payers! We were told to call in a few days to find out if we could renew then. Don't give a stuff about the fine, just frustrated of wasting time! Consider yourself privileged!
