We went south with friends today, passed through the north side and then to the Greek shed.
We gave our passports to the female in the booth and she then gave them to the policeman
who was sitting in front of her. She then told us to park up in front of the insurance offices
and walk back to her which I did. When I got out of the car there was another car just pulling
up behind us. He opened his window and said to me, I think these might be yours. She had
only given him our four passports. Thank God the chap was an honest person, otherwise we
would have been in a right mess, he could have easily driven off with them. So be warned
watch your passports when you hand them over. If you are the person who gave me them
back I owe you a drink. Thank you very much from four very grateful people.

Similar experience crossing on foot today at Ledra Street , normally a cursory glance and you are on your way , not so today , Passport entered into a scanner and then ,She moved to another seat , eventually another officer reluctantly handed me back my passport , same on the return .

You should have asked for the manager and complained. This happened to us, but my Husband refused to move and asked, well demanded to see a supervisor. When he explained what has happened the supervisor made the lady apologise and we believe, told her off. They have no authority to stop you if you have a European passport.
