Does anyone know if you can buy anti mould paint (for interior walls and ceilings) ? My friend used Ronseal anti mould clear paint in UK and said it was brilliant. Is there an equivalent product sold here and has anyone used it with good results? Thanks

I have half of my walls and ceilings done and the rest when we have a dry week next week. What our guy buys is terrific but its not actually anti mould paint as such, although it is from the Marshal anti bacterial range What he then then bought was a packet of white powder which they mixed with the paint. This makes the paint a bit thicker and they just put the lot on walls and ceilings with a roller in the normal way. So not totally the paint but the powder combination which turns the paint into anti mould. I\'ve thrown the last pack away but Im sure a good Yapi market will know what you want. Its about the size of a Kellogs packet.

Thank you Sophie for your reply. Do you know if that works ? Sounds like an option if it does work.

I have used Anti Mould/Fungus paint, bought at Homebase in the South, works very well,, white only. They also sell Bathroom Dulux paint, again anti mould, in colours, (expensive) works great in the shower room.

kedikat, Can only speak as I find, the ceilings we had done 2 years have shown no sign of mould since. Marshall make antibacterial paint (there isn't a huge choice of colours though) but have suited me. The painter then adds this powder stuff (Ill make a note on Monday what its called) and its rolled on in the normal way. Its does cost more than ordinary paint I have to admit. We have left a full 4 weeks of more or less dry weather with the windows open to let air circulate, plus washed the mould off with bleach, prior to the painter starting work. No point in painting over existing mould.
