I have just returned to uk from a break in trnc at our property. a neighbour was telling me about a water heating system they had, its powered by gas, is an 'on demand' service and heats the water up as you use it. i did not have time to view it while there as was just leaving for larnaca.
does anyone know/have anything similar? something that will minimise the winter emersion heater costs? i was informed it works very cheaply, the gas bottle lasts for about 3 months in winter and you can stand in the warm shower to your hearts content.
sounds too good to be true.......................anyone help? costs?

Re: gas on demand water heater
We had one. It's just an old fashioned water heater that is fitted outside in a metal cabinet (we paid 600TL 4 years ago, including the metal cabinet housing, plus another 300TL for it to be fitted. All the yapi markets sell them.

Re: gas on demand water heater
Be care full though. We had one fitted at the same as most others (someone on the forum enthused about it and scores of us bought one) However ours was a disaster and we gave up after a couple of months (its still on the wall as I type) The fitter, who we assumed knew what he was doing, fitted the thing but to get to the outlets had to run what appears to be 100 yds of piping, all over the roof and back again!! Hence it takes about 10mins to get to one of the shower rooms and the kitchen. In the height of winter it runs of out of hot water in about 5 minutes. Its down to where the boiler is situated. I'm told ours would work if it was placed outside the front door, but I don't want a boiler there. Have been quoted over 400GBP to set the system up again, so make sure its fitted corrected in the first place!! When they work, Im sure they are wonderful.

Don't know if it is what you mean, but we have a combi boiler that runs off our gas tank. We have constant hot water. In the summer it will only come on if the solar panels have not warmed the water enough.....which is almost never. Very efficient and gives us instant (almost, as you do have to wait for the cold water to come out of the pipes), and central heating too.

thanks everyone
ill look in the yapi markets. we dont have central heating so this is purely for winter hot water.

Try Mr Pipe if you are near Karakum...a friend had one fitted by them just for the shower.
