Waddo-hopefully I dont have 75 litres of urine in my water tank,and I put a touch of chlorine in it, just in case someone has been relieving themselves in it.

oh, yes, the Legionnaires Disease... here in Cyprus also available from cold water tanks and pipes... and yes, aircons, heat pumps and so on.
some numbers from germany:
- 20.000-30.000 legionella pneumonia cases a year, death toll estimated at 4500.
- by the factor of 10 -100 !! , you may get the the lighter version, the pontiac feaver.

so, when "doubled" because of the better conditions for the small bacterias... it comes in N.Cyprus to 300 heavy infections, death toll 45, and approx 3000- 30.000 pontiac feaver cases a year.
and you believe you got a "summer flue"?

you may use chlorine..and then you may get sick from the chlorine... and due to corrosion your water tank (also DHW tabk), pipe work will start to leak. waterpump failures.... and so on...

VERY useful and informative link; a neighbour last year highlighted the dangers just in your shower head....
