Change of Standing Charge for Water bills?

Hi

We pay our water bills direct through the bank (we're in UK at present) and the last two payments have only been for 11TL instead of the 22TL standing charge we have always paid.

Does anyone know why this has changed please? We are in Ozankoy.

Hi jax47, we are in Ozankoy and since they started charging for Turkish Water (not sure if we are getting it) the 2 items of standing charges are 4.17 TL & 6.00 TL which makes your 11TL right, the cost of the water has gone up as we used to pay 20 - 30 TL per month however since they upped the prices we are now paying over 50 each month.

Yes, we here in Alsancak are paying more. The actually useage of water for last two months was 2 tonnes per month but the bill is over 41tl each month

Last months bill with the credit, I used to pay 30tl then I reduced it to 15tl is 3tl

Thats strange snd1966, seven if you are paying for what you use. In reality we only pay for what we use, but there is rental for the water meter, Belediye Tax, Government Tax and something else I haven't been able to discover so how do you get out of paying for those then?

We are in Karsiyaka and only pay, in water terms, for what we use albeit at 6TL a ton. This month's standing charges for "cleaning" and "health" come to 18.34TL. There are no monthly taxes only the annual Property Tax.

In Alsancak we were charged 421 lira for the installation of the water meter and our monthly charge for council tax is roughly 20 lira. We are charged 4 lira for the first 10 tons of water which I assume is on a monthly basis.

Joandjelly are correct.
When I top up my card in the Karsiyaka/Lapta office I put 30 tonnes on which should come to 180TL but they always add another 10TL for Saglik (health).
My monthly direct debit payments which cover refuse collection and sanitation (i.e. Lapta coming into the house to put down cockroach killer etc) are 6 x 18.34Tl and 6 x 8.34TL so only 124TL per year.
And council tax 175TL per year.

As I said I used to pay 30tl as no change was available so built up a credit, then I have paid 15tl and since the new charge nothing so next month will be my first proper bill. We have always used between 1 and 3 ton a month and never had the attitude you get 10 included in this price.

Jax47, Just been up to pay our water bill, for your info the first 1 - 10 tons of water is charged at 5TL per ton, if you go above 10 tons the price increases with every 5 tons.
