I think that you're right - unless it says UHT or Pasteurised, then the yoghurt is 'Live' as far as I'm aware...
Most of the 'plain 'yogurts (the ones that aren't displayed in the deserts section in the shops), are described as 'Köy' (Village) Yogurt, and on occasion, I've used a spoonfull to start another batch successfully, which wouldn't be possible if they weren't Live...
You might also see 'Strained Yogurt' or 'Greek Style Yogurt' on the container, this doesn't mean that it isn't 'Live', just that it has been passed through a fine filter (usually muslin, if done by hand) to remove the whey, which makes it thicker. There's a good selection at Ileli Supermarket, in the last chiller cabinet on the same row as the frozen foods and cooked meats.
