Go to the Land Registry in Girne with a copy of the Kocan and your passport, tell them you want a search to tell you what type the land is and if there is any mortgage on it and they will complete most of the form for you and you just sign it, I can't remember how much I initially paid I think it was about 30tl and then when you are told to come back after so many days you pay another small amount when you uplift the search.

I would just add that you need to ask about 'Any and ALL encumbrances'. not just mortgages.

Sorry but the rules have changed it is only the owner or their POA who can do a search now.

Yes she should request the search result from the Vendors it takes 3 working days (or thereabouts!)
