Oh but we are all lovely in Ozankoy (provided you like dragons that is ) It is just that we are so popular and have such narrow streets that we get fed up with all the dust, dirt and mud thrown up at our houses, particularly when we get drenched as we leave the front door! But I expect you will be living in a different part.

I hope you like it anyway. To cheer you today we have water coming at good pressure, all day so far. Only a week after we were told "Water come today"!!!!!!

If there are so many water shortages around the country, why in hell are the car washes still allowed to continue. I know those in their 70K+ cars can't stand a speck of dust to land on their status symbols, but surely someone has authority to stop or at least cut it down. The water running down the roads from the car washed must surely be measured in thousands of tonnes a day.

I could say the same about people who insist on having the status symbol of swimming pool, but I would soon get shot down!

Actually I do not think the main problem is not having water (at least now it seems to be coming from Turkey) but getting it to where it is needed which seems to cause more problems and disruption than necessary,

I was going to say the same thing myself - closing down a car wash in an area which is well supplied with Turkish Water would do nothing to help people in an area where they haven't laid the pipes yet...

That sounds just like my dear old Ma......................Clear up your plate. think of the starving children in Africa!!!!!! I shall now go and water the garden, fill up the pool and have the car valeted and to hell with everyone else. Bonkers.

Dont forget to have a long soak in a hot bath Sophie, and wash all your clothes,, curtains, bedlinen etc. on the longest possible wash cycle! Actually if you live near where they are laying pipes you will need both.

Have you though about a water feature for the garden, or perhaps a hot tub?

And while you are saving scarce resources have a few illuminated signs in the garden, and a lazer beam on the roof. Not to mention dancing to strobe lighting at your parties!!!!!

No water in parts of Karmi for over 2 weeks!

Can concur re the situation in parts of Karmi/Karaman.

The week before the wildfire, we had mains water for only 2 days or so. Worryingly there was no mains water in the area of fire.....it came on for a day or so about an hour or so after the fire crews left.

Following that, many residents have had no or very little water and have had to resort to getting some by sharing a bowser or from friendly neighbours by hosepipe.

There was an article all about this in yesterday's Cyprus Today. Miraculously, since this morning mains water has been flowing for more than 12 hours!

Not for every house in Karmi. We have had no mains water for over 3 weeks!
