Pool Cleaning
After some advice please on pool cleaning. I clean/vacuum my pool and within 24 hours there is what seems to be very fine dust back in it and I cannot get rid of it. I did think possibly it is brown algae but I have dosed with algicide and shock the pool but it still appears after every vacuum. Anybody any ideas on how to get rid or what it may be.
Thanks in advance.

If you have dust on your patio it will also be in your pool! Do you have building work going on nearby?

Re: Pool Cleaning
In reply to above. Yes I am taking advice from the professionals. No building work around but close to road and also a bit dusty because of the weather but it is much worse this year than previously. Thanks for replies.

Re: Pool Cleaning
Try vacuuming the pool by putting the Multi valve to the Waste position. That will discharge the dust completely out of the cleaning/filter system. It's worked for me.
Remember to do very fast vacuuming strokes while doing this as you are vacuuming to waste so the water is lost.
And don't forget to switch the valve back to Filter, if not you will empty your pool. Expensive!!!

Thanks Dap, tried that and I thought that would solve it, but it didn't.

Re: Pool Cleaning
It sounds as though your sand in the filter may need changing, if it is full of dirt it will of course continue to flow back into your pool after cleaning, sometimes you can get away with just mixing up the sand in the filter with your hands and then put the backwash on to remove most of the built up dirt.

Agree with gary&shirley. When you are vac'ing the pool look at the inlet ports If you can see dust coming back into the pool your sand filter is not doing it's job and you may have to change the sand. Do you know when it was last changed? It's an onerous task, I got Pool Tech to do mine. Hope this helps

Re: Pool Cleaning
Thanks Silverfir, changed my sand for glass last year. Started off with excellent results now getting the fine dust.
