Creditwest Çatalköy. Also works with Euro accounts from a Euro country to Euro account and then to a TL account.
And it's an awful lot cheaper for Euro. The standard charge to transfer up to €20000 (max daily amount for my bank) is €0.51. Yes. 51 cents. Transfer is usually within 3-4 working days (a faster option is available).
To transfer Sterling costs around £20 plus, regardless of the amount, per transfer.
Does anyone know why?

You need to be careful as Credit West as all local banks use a subsidiary bank in Turkey and if like us you can loose money during the transfer although it was refunded to us via our UK bank some many weeks later.

My sentiments exactly .. Do none of the banks along this stretch of road have their own IBAN no ..gary&shirley wrote:You need to be careful as Credit West as all local banks use a subsidiary bank in Turkey and if like us you can loose money during the transfer although it was refunded to us via our UK bank some many weeks later.

Sorry to hear that but have never had a problem transferring either Euro or Sterling for the last four years.gary&shirley wrote:You need to be careful as Credit West as all local banks use a subsidiary bank in Turkey and if like us you can loose money during the transfer although it was refunded to us via our UK bank some many weeks later.

All banks have their own IBAN number. I transfer from Lloyds in the UK to Creditwest, £10 for up to £10k and the intermediary in Turkey charges £5, it can't be odds. It normally takes anything from 1 - 3 days. Was surprised once and it was done within a day but that doesn't often happen.

We transfered sterling from the Halifax into CreditWest. Max 50K per transfer charge £5 plus I think £15 at UK end. It arrived next day. Then converted to TL at the relevent rate for that day. No problems.
