White elephant reservoir
Is there anywhere on the island actually using the Turkish water? In Karsiaka still have the same turn off of water as experienced for the last 10 years but am paying double the price for the privilege

If anything getting less water since being apparently connected to Turkish Water and only in the middle of the night. I am told it is because they are still digging!

How do you know if your on Turkish water?
I thought it was higher pressure 24/7 delivery that was the give away. If so certainly not in Ozankoy!

Same situation in Esentepe village.
Reduced water pressure and on off on off supply.
It mirrors last year's supply and I suspect the hotels are getting priority water.

Of course the hotels will get the water as a priority, They have to flush all their raw sewage out to sea with it!

Pretty sure we are getting it in lower Catalkoy. For the last few months the kettle has not needed de scaling for at least six weeks between treatments. It used to need it on a weekly basis. Catalkoy did a lot of the new pipe work two years ago and the pumping station is just down the hill from us.

It would appear that the Beli is making a killing charging double the price for the old well water, perhaps they need some new Merc 4x4's to run around in. As was said it should be high pressure 24/7 and some people were talking of doing away with the side tank and pump, I'm glad I didn't. Hence the Turkish water reservoir is a white elephant.

I believe parts of Iskele are now getting Turkish water, though not if you are unlucky enough to live on the MEDVIEW dictatorship, where we are luck to get water at all....And we have no way to store it when it is on. Avoid Medview!!!!!

No problems in Gecitkale, water is constant. Belediye do make a killing switching to old supply every now and again. This is Cyprus after all, and I go with the flow (excuse the pun).

Re: White elephant reservoir
Lapta did invest a lot of time and money in the new(ish) Seviltepe deep well, which they said would supply water for 40 years. Our water in Karsiyaka is more or less constant at the moment and has been for a couple of years now.

HI We have had constant water in Alsancak for 3 years, the pressure is 8 bar, i have now converted over to mains water (no tank & pump) with no problems, i had to put a regulator in line because at that pressure it can blow joints, if you have good pressure i can convert for you i have done 15 so far for people, please dont ask the price as all houses are different phone me on 0533 848 3939

Paul, maybe in your part of Alsancak!
I was running a trifle low the other day, and as it wasn't my turn to use the well, I thought that I'd have some 'Turkish water', turned the stopcock on and.....ZILCH

We live on the sea side of the main road in Karsiyaka and yes, they still turn water on and off all the time. This is most annoying as I have converted my house to run direct off the mains. ( I still have pump and tank as back up). When They turn the water off, it means I have to waste electricity to pump it.
Think how much electricity is wasted all over the Island running pumps unecessarily!

Re: White elephant reservoir
Hi Pete, although ours seems to be on all the time (it dried up last Saturday for an hour or so, but I put that down to demand), the pressure is not that great so we still rely on our getting our 10 tonne tank filled up and pumping it to the house.ElectricianPete wrote:We live on the sea side of the main road in Karsiyaka and yes, they still turn water on and off all the time.
