anyone know the best place to purchase one of these or would i be better bringing one out from uk and fix it in myself?

i want a ceiling fan, ill self fit it to a wooden beam. does not have to have a light or pulley string but remote may well be a bonus.

thanks in anticipation.

We got ours from Electrokur. Remote control and very very quiet when on.

I've had a couple from Elektrokur, seem to be just as good as ones that I brought from the UK, but I haven't done a price comparison.

We bought 3 from Elektrokur about 3 or 4 years ago, also remote control with 3 speeds. We have them on all day at this time of year and have had no problems with them. They seemed quite expensive at the time but we are very happy with them.

Bought one for the kitchen last year in Tekzen at the airport mall. Price wasn't much different from UK prices. Actually think it's better than the ones we brought over from the UK. It doesn't have a remote, but didn't want that for the kitchen. They had several different models to choose from, so they may have some with remotes. Just had to buy some beading to lengthen the pulls.

Leroy Merlin in the south have a good selection, definitely buy one that has a wireless remote control. The first one I bought had a wall mounted remote control and required an additional wire going to the outlet in the ceiling, despite my best efforts I was unable to push that extra wireless through the conduit!
