Euro bank card
Do any of the banks here give a Euro account with a Card attached to it. Will spend some time in Europe and would like to spend Euros without changing them to TL then back to Euros!
Thanks
Thanks

Funnily I thought one of the purposes of this board was to be helpful to other members.

I think that Deniz1 means that she doesn't know...
...and if Deniz1 doesn't know, then nobody else will either
Seriously, you've got a Bank account, haven't you?
Then ask the Bank!

Sadly the level of aggression on this board is rapidly approaching that of Cyprus44 and you know what happened to that. Normal 'fun posters' are now scared of posting due to those who put down everyone and everything with their arrogant and patronizing manner. In answer to your question it seems no one knows. wish you well with finding the answer !,

Re: Euro bank card
I have accounts with three banks, none of them do it. I have lived on this island now for about 12 years and have contributed to these forums all the way back to when they were MS forums HELPING people wherever possible, often going to their homes to assist with pool issues, going into town to help with documentation issues to name but a couple. I am working away at present so my input has been less. I could of course approach all the other banks but rather than go around blindly asking I thought this board may be a source of information, clearly the nature of the boards is changing.
So looking at other threads:-
Lemongrass? Ask the supermarkets
Flying out of Larnaca? Ask at the airport
New Hard drive? Ask at the computer shop

Re: Euro bank card
Jonnie,
Part of the problem may be the way that you asked the question, but didn't supply the information which you now have done -
If you had said " I have accounts at X Bank, Y Bank, and Z Bank, and I've asked them whether they do Euro Accounts with a card attached, but they don't. Does anyone know of any Banks that do so, to save me asking every single Bank in TRNC, as I'm working away at present?" - then I think that you would have got an entirely different response - Zilch because it appears that no one does actually know!
Part of the phenomenon that you experienced is due to people asking questions on the forum out of sheer laziness, where the answer is readily available elsewhere, but they expect someone else to go to the effort of supplying the info instead. If you (or anyone else! - not just You!) indicates what other efforts that they've made, then members are more inclined to put some effort into helping - just as I'm trying to help now...
The three (seemingly unhelpful) answers that you quoted were obviously posted by people who did not have any specific information on the questions which were posed, and yet felt obliged, nonetheless, to supply some sort of response in the absence of anything more positive. I note that meaningful answers were eventually forthcoming on each of those threads, so I'm inclined to think that those somewhat bland responses are certainly not typical of the membership of the Forum as a whole - those who did have useful information did respond when they were able. Don't forget that not everyone is on the Forum all of the time!
Does this make you think any differently?

JUst the point I was making Jonnie ....... what,s happened to manners and pleasant repartee seems the 'Trolls' are taking over. There are a few on this board who like to patronize and put down genuine posters on a regular basis and everyone knows who they are ... must have really sad lives!!!

Hi, I am interested in knowing and understanding your point of view, - but what, exactly, makes you 'rest your case'?The Banshee wrote:KC I rest my case !!!!!!!
Don't worry about offending me, if you view me as one of the 'culprits' ; - I really am more interested in learning your point of view than anything else...

Re: Euro bank card
Kieth,
I thought it was a straightforward question, ok I could perhaps have written as you said but I could then have also added the three banks I wrote to on contact forms which only one replied, in Turkish. It was really just a simple question. Perhaps before barking a response people could take the time and trouble to see that I am not "Lazy" and often put in quite a bit of my own effort. For instance:-

The three responses were "suggested responses" to current questions!

Hi Jonnie, it seems that everyone can take something away from this - the different perceptions that the various parties have of the same conversation is quite illuminating!
