metal detector needed

Dose anyone know where I can purchase a metal detector. My little boy has his heart set on one for his birthday. Thanks in advance for your help

OMG, you can get away with driving and talking on your mobile, taking children on motorbikes with no helmet but u cannot use a metal derector. Its crazy

Just a passing thought - might it be because of the problems from the 60' and 70's; possibly that arms/munitions/other "evidence" might be uncovered..?

I'd never considered the 'munitions' angle, I always thought that it was because of the illegal trade in coins and other antiquities...

Keith, it was the same before 74 as well so don't think it is the munitions angle - they were very hot on it in the South between 69 and 72 for sure!
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.
