Nadir has been ordered to repay £5 million or face a further 6 years in jail, he claimed to be penniless but the Judge rejected his claim of poverty and said he believes Nadir has money stashed away. Nadir claimed to have lived on the generosity of his Mother and Girlfriend when he was in NC.

I am confused here. His girlfriend is his wife? Isn't she? and as far as I know she doesn't have money. I know many people here who have known the family for years and trust them implicitly, and I believe the mother was connected with the comlpany. I do know that she wears some super clothes which were Polly Peck - they are certainly quality for they look as fresh as they were the day they were made. He does have a beautiful home here, and I do hope that he is not expected to sell that, because I think the jury will be forever out on this one.
None of us know the truth, and probably never will, and the fact that a jury had to make a decision must have been tough on them, especially as if involved high finance that even many accountants find challenging.
But he has certainly had courage to go back and face it all. He didn't have to - or did someone think he thought he had been asdiv sedd that he woul dbe pronounced innocent.
As I say - who knows. Only he does really. I know there are many people who are angry because they lost their pensions etc, But I do hope that the Nadir episode is closed soon.

so are you saying if he manages to stump up £6 million he will be let out of jail, if that is the case seems to me he is buying out of his sentence. There is always two sides to every story, and most of the time courts that prosecute people like asil don,t really get to the whole truth and usually do a deal that they think will satisfy the public.

paula121, Plus he will get another 6 years added if he does not find the £5million.

I know he is treated like a god here because he pured all his money into the country giving people jobs and probably hope of achieving world recognition.

So where is he going to get the extra £5 million, will his friends bail him out again. I doubt it so do what the rest of us would have to do, sell the house in Lapta and any other property he has. He was found guilty by "twelve good men and true" which is more than we would get here!
