Just got back from TRNC. I have used many recommendations available from this wonderful and useful forum. I do not want to mention the gardener recommended whom I used on my visit as I do not want to jeopardize any future work for him however I felt that he probably over charged me. I have been informed on this forum that a days garden work is approx 150Tl and a cleaner the same. I met up with the recommended gardener. He told me that he now charges 200TL per day. He had a look at the work involved which was some pruning; hedge cutting and weeding. he said that this would take 2 people to do the work for the day and therefore quoted me for 400TL. He said he could also get someone to do the cleaning of the house ( I have a 4 bed villa) for 200TL which included the windows I thought this was reasonable since cleaning the windows as well . We agreed. However when he turned up to do the work he turned up with his son (around 13 yrs old) and mother as supposedly the other person to help with the gardening had cut his finger and required stitches and could not attend. The cleaner he normally uses could not come as they were booked ? He told me that he wanted an additional 100TL to tidy up the garden to look immaculate . We then agreed 50TL for the tidying up What we found was that he managed to do all the garden work himself in the day . His son was just tidying up. So whereas paying the normal 150Tl for a days work we were tricked into paying 450TL
Does anyone know of a decent gardener and cleaner to use for a days work at a normal going rates please ? ( Alagadi area)

Re: Gardener and Cleaner for a day
I do know of a gardener that lives in the Alagadi area. He looks after a garden in Ozankoy and they seem to be happy with him. I do not know what he charges but I could find out for you if you like as well as his contact details.
