Greenhill Cemetery
Attended the funeral today of a well known and highly respected Ozankoy ex pat. There was a very good attendance and a wonderful send off.The service was extremely dignified and we had an exceptional eulogy from Marion Stuart. This is the first time we have been to this peaceful and beautiful resting place with its glorious setting between the mountains and the sea. Truly a place of peace. Like all older citizens it's comforting to know that we do really have a place in the sun. This is due mainly to the members of the Greenhill Cemetery committee who maintain and look after this and are available to help during the most stressfull times. I noticed they were all there today to pay their respects and offer assistance. We thank them all for their dedication and efforts. Thanks Harry and the team. Not a nice subject I know but my wife and I now have complete peace of mind having seen this lovely resting place. It's all done on donations and not in my opinion given enough publicity. Please help to support the efforts of these very dedicated and extremely caring people who will be us as we say farewell.

Re: Greenhill Cemetery
I would like to echo the above comments. I attended the same funeral today and it was the first time I had visited this cemetery. I couldn't believe what the volunteers had achieved. The road up to the cemetery is enough to test anyone's driving but once up there it is so tranquil. There were plenty of volunteers on hand to welcome people and give directions. They deserve our grateful thanks and donations to encourage them to continue their excellent work. Thank you so much and also a big thank you to Marion for the beautiful and sensitive way you conducted the proceedings.

Yes Greenhill is beautiful, and as you say the road is terible. But what about the people who live in places like Lapta and Karsiaka, they also have a cemetery, but who looks after that? I have tried to find out but nobody seems to know. It also is in a lovely spot and is a lot easier to get to than Greenhill. If anybody know's please let us know.

Re: Greenhill Cemetery
I must agree with everyone the cemetery committee are so kind and helpful. My husband died last year and is buried at Greenhill. With out all the help from the committee I would have not known which way to turn and even where to start. Thank you for all the help you gave me.
