Girne Belediye Direct Debit from HSBC?

Further to the recent post re Alsancak Belediye I checked our HSBC a/c this afternoon & found that our September water payment had not been taken & also in the 'Bill Preview' section there was no entry for October. I was unable to pay these bills manually as it said 'Incorrect Subscriber no. or no amount owing'. Obviously it is no use trying to ring the bank as they never answer so it means going in there.
Anybody have any input on this, I know a lot of people no longer bank with HSBC but we are staying until the bitter end whenever that might be!

Yes me too! Looks like it's a trip to the bank at least it is never busy now.

Ironically, I'm still getting texts from them to say we haven't set up enough payments to qualify for Big Step - we closed all our accounts last month...

HSBC have diligently investigated this issue for me & informed me this afternoon that the Girne Belediyesi had put a 2018 date on their DDr request so the amount was not paid.
They have not yet sent the information for the payment due this month but are supposed to be including last month's bill without the addition of any late payment penalty.............
I do not know how many people this affected or whether it was just us but for those of you still with HSBC it might be worthwhile to check your account.
