I assume that Astonish mould and mildew remover is not obtainable in the TRNC but is there a similar Turkish product? If so, what is it called and from where can it be obtained?

I buy Dettol, mound and mildew remover from Supreme supermarket and would assume it's available in others.

Mr Pound do sell a range of 'Astonish' products, including sprays, so it might be worth a 'look in' there...

Alternatively for hard surfaces - tiles, grouting, etc. but not wood! - you could try a dilute solution of household bleach with a dash of washing up liquid as a 'wetting agent' for treating Mildew.

For treating Mold, particularly on porous surfaces, you might find that Vinegar is more effective (and less damaging) in the long term.

It is best not to mix cleaning products together unless you really know what you're doing!

You can get solutions from the yapi, it's in two separate containers. The make is, Kule, the one with the blue label is to clean the mould, and the one with the grey label is to seal when dry after cleaning.

If on tiles, tops of skirting tiles or paintwork or in cupboards you can use 50% Bleach and 50% water or half and half that will kill moulds and stop future ones. Just wipe the area out with the solution. However if it is in a shower, where dampness is present you will need to do this as soon as you see the moulds reappearing. It is the damp humid conditions they grow in. I would consider carefully before using it on plastics as it may take the shine off and leave a rough surface.
