Turkish Airlines Visa requirements
Has anyone travelled very recently with Turkish Airlines, through transit to UK? I am due to travel next week and when checking my booking, a message is coming up saying as there is no transit at Ataturk (???) I will need a visa.....we have done the trip many times and never needed a visa. Has something changed.....anyone know? I have sent a message to TA and waiting for response, but thought I would ask on here if anyone has had recent experience. Thanks.

Travelled three weeks ago with TA. No problem in transit. The same message came up on my booking.
What you must ensure is you have a boarding card for your onward journey from IST. Make sure you are issued with two boarding cards at ECN.

I once had to do a three legged trip to Ercan - London to Istanbul, then Istanbul to Ankara, then on to Ercan.
As I had to leave the international terminal at Istanbul to the domestic, I had to get a visa though I was only in transit and had all boarding cards.

I travelled to Istanbul then on to Izmir in July although we had to go to domestic you don't actually leave the airport and we had visas they weren't checked going through domestic only on arrival at Izmir.

Hi Mrs Gee,
I have just travelled to the UK with Turkish Airlines and, as other posters have said, you don't need a visa. I got issued both my boarding cards at Ercan and at Manchester on my return and went through transit no problems.

Thank you for replies, I have also checked with a friend who works in travel agency over here, he cannot understand the message either and says no visa necessary......maybe a mistake on TA booking page.

Travelled Sunday via Ataturk, boarding cards issued at Ercan for both flights, as transit passenger did not need visa.

Re: Turkish Airlines Visa requirements
Not sure if it's the same, but when I checked in last time we came I couldn't get past entering a visa requirement. When I finally got through to someone was told to use the old version of the website. When I switched to the old website checked in no problem. Maybe a similar issue ??
