Urgently needed,
TRNC Vaughan needs 6 units of blood on Monday for a Quadruple Bypass and Aortic valve replacement.
He is in Lefkosa Near East Hospital
Can anybody help please

They said O but i think anything will do to replace blood bank.

I am just about due to donate, But RH, neg ??? I can get to Girne hospital Monday.

hi, as far as i am aware it has to be donated at the near east and let them know it is for Vaughan Williams.
Not sure if Girne hospital will send it to them.

I would urge any potential donors to phone the hospital first, we went a couple of years ago but their age limits were much lower than the state hospital so we had a wasted journey.

***BLOOD APPEAL***
O positive blood needed for a patient at Near East hospital in Lefkosa on MONDAY (22ND JANUARY).
Requirements: Male under 55 not taking antibiotics or asprin.
Females may be suitable but would need to attend the blood bank for a test to see if suitable.
Must eat before attending and must not have given blood within the last 3 months.

If you are able to donate, please attend the blood bank at the hospital on Monday 22nd between 9am - 8pm and ask for the unit to be marked for "Vaughan Williams"

That's the first time that I have seen a differentiation between sexes. I didn't think it mattered.

I doubt it was just blood they wanted...possibly platelets and always very difficult to source.
