Amazed to see Tokyo near the top, I thought it was an expensive place to visit.

I'm also surprised that Venice wasn't included, given the following quote:

Venise is like a number of other places (Paris still being one of them I suspect) that has three prices for a cup of coffee. Sit on the front row outside of a café in St Marks Square (where you can see and be seen)and you can pay up to 15Euro or more for a cup, just inside but in the front of the café near the window the cost is less. Go to the back of the café and you get the lowest price. However, having just watched BBC news, the amount charged for the steaks etc, was appalling.
