Demonstration in Lefkosa

Does anyone know what the demonstration was today in Lefkosa? Took me hours to get out of there because of closed off roads and traffic chaos. Riot police with shields etc were there....

They were protesting against Afrika newspaper who had the audacity to compare Turkey’s recent attack on Turkey/Syrian border to their peace intervention in 1974 in Cyprus, where TCs were saved from systematic genocide by the Greeks and GCs.

saw a video on FB about this, looks like the polis lost control of the situation for a time. Lots of angry people!

Yes, it looked a bit angry!!!! The motorists who were held up for a long time were getting out of their cars and confronting the demonstrators!!!! Then it started raining, pretty badly and they all went running for shelter, bless them.... demonstration forgotten.
