Went to see the Mukhtar in Karsiyaka on Friday evening for our residency letter at 6pm and no one turned up. So tried the telephone number on the door - not allocated!

Does anyone have his number please? Can I use any Mukhtar to get a letter for residency?

You are not supposed to use any Mukhtar other than the one in the vicinity in which you live........however, some others will do it for you.....ask around.

The muhtar is supposed to be confirming your address in that area so I don't see how another in a different area could do that.

You take your house purchase/lease contract, utility bills, passport, blue/pink card et al and present them or ask a mukhtar to call at your residence. It is not rocket science to get a form signed.

I was referring to asking another mukhtar if you cannot contact yours. Or try your local belidiyse/bashkan.

We can't be bothered with all that, just tell him what to put down then scarper before he holds his hand out. Works every time
