Alsancak Belediyesi and KAR Unite on a new project

Alsancak Belediyesi recently asked KAR to a meeting with some of their representatives. They wanted KARs expertise and knowledge to help them with their new project.
The Belediyesi are planning on having a specific dog walking and dog owner’s area attached to the recently opened Ozgurluk Milli Park. Many residents had expressed concerns that the Milli Park is a No Dog zone.
This new area, (separated but next to the Milli Park) will be only for dogs on leads and will actively encourage “responsible” owners to clear up after their dogs - with plans for signs and bins to that effect. There will likely be a café and a meeting area. It is hoped that it will become a safe and pleasant place to walk dogs
KAR will be advising the Belediyesi on all aspects of the development, completion and running of the dog park - to include natural areas for walking, potentially a meeting place for school visits and also maybe an area which could be used for puppy training.
Further details will be provided once further planning meetings, between Belediyesi representatives, KAR and the Mayor (Firat Ataser), are completed.
KAR are very pleased to be involved in a project which should improve facilities for dogs and will also encourage responsible ownership.
It is a step in the right direction for Alsancak Belediyesi.

Wow, little steps but the local authorities seem to be realising dogs can be a part of normal family life & not a disposable commodity.

Finally, the message that KAR have been banging on for years, is getting through. Dogs are not disposable items to be dumped at will. They are members of the family to be loved and respected and taken out for a walk, just like a children taken out in a push chair. Education with regards to clearing up after the dog is essential, and I know loads of Europeans who will find this a chore as well as locals but it has to be done as a matter of health and hygiene for everyone. I understand the Sabata (Belediye Security) will be in attendance to see that dogs are kept on leads and "poo" dealt with in the appropriate manner. Hopefully this will be a pleasant and secure area for dog owners to visit and none dog owners (particularly children) visit in order to learn that dogs can be their best friends and nothing to run away from or be afraid of. Well done KAR and Alsancak Belediye.
