Don't know about Girne etc, but if you are ever planning to go to the Karpaz there is a nice shop in Yenierenköy that sells all those things

If you go down the High Street from George's cafe to the crossroads, turn left, there's an alley way on your left a little way up, there's a wool shop up there. You pass a music shop on the left. Hope that makes sense.

Heading down the hill from Georges Cafe across the cross roads at the bottom of the hill, a small shop on the left sells all things wool etc, also try the charity shops usually have knitting patterns needles etc,

there is also a shop in Kermiya and Lefcosia.

Coming from Girne, towards Alsancak, turn left at roundabout with electricity sub station and follow that road a short while. There is a supermarket ( can’t remember name). Just after there is a shop, which has stuff outside and looks it sells children’s stuff. Upstairs is an Aladdin’s Cave of wool, crochet hooks etc.
If anyone can give more specific instructions, feel free, as I’m doing it from memory.
