Remember the Goodies.......da doody, doody, dum, dum!
Who can forget the gunfight with those classic, plastic tomato sauce pistols?
Well, I'm sorry to say they're now well past their best and refused the invitation to open the 'Open House' sale taking place tomorrow, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th at Karşiyaka. Both days 11.00 - 2.00
Check out the postings in 'Sales' for details.
Be there or be square...........ooh, the old ones are the best!

There's only one of them still alive, isn't there? Very clever marketing ploy, I hope they are queuing around the block when you open up tomorrow.
I wish Bill Oddie could spend a couple of hours with us in our garden identifying all the pretty birds by their songs. Where's an ornithoologist when you need one?

I had to Google ( out of interest as I loved the Goodies series) and see if they were still alive and apparently they are all still alive.

Re: The Goodies - coming to North Cyprus
Having made my post above I feel I do have to 'explain' my view / position in more detail and be very clear.
Mukel may well be a most kind harted, generous of spirit, unselfish person, kind to animals and small children alike. I do not know them. My comments about 'selfish' apply to this specific behaviour only and not the person as an individual in any general sense. I only 'raise' the issue because I think it is indicative of a wider phenomenon that warrants discussion. No one likes to be called selfish, myself included and my post I accept can be seen as, and in some ways is, in breach of the forum rules. Sorry Mukel and really for me at least this is not 'personal'.
One aspect of 'cypriot culture' I personally find infuriating is the way blocking other people in when parking cars seems, so often, the 'norm'. It drives me mad. It is as if there is amongst some / many 'cypriots' (and sometimes expats who have gone native) some kind of blind spot that they are simply unaware how their actions impact others in a negative way. There is to me an inherent 'selfishness' or lack of awareness or concern as to how this behaviour affects others. There is a sense in which the person doing it just considers themselves 'more important' than those they may inconvenience.
I see a similar 'dynamic' I am afraid on forums like these. When someone comes to the forum, someone familiar with it and knows that it has sections for different topics and posts say about there 'internet problems' in the general forum section, to me it is the virtual equivalent of the phenomenon mentioned above. There is, for me, a similar sense in which the person who does it feels 'doing this suits me and who cares if some others are inconvenienced' and that they are their needs and requirements trump other peoples. Ultimately when people do this, someone has to then expend time and energy and effort to consider their post and move it and the like. There is, in the act (not necessarily the person per se), for me and inherent 'selfishness' in these kinds of behaviours.
Sorry.

Re: The Goodies - coming to North Cyprus
So you should be, this is a guy who has cycled all around Cyprus for charity but has made a decision to go back to the UK. His is selling his goods and chattels before he goes. I don't see anything wrong with that.
I still love you, Erol.
