Did anyone notice the large birds of prey this morning over Catalkoy ?.
There were six of them , did someone manage to identify them ?.
Any bird lovers out there ? !

Probably trying to keep out of range of the hunters.
Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Re: Birds of prey
Hi,
A couple of weeks ago we had 6 large birds of prey over in Esentepe what a lovely sight they were riding the thermals.
They had a large circle under each wing and I was told they were sea eagles.

Re: Birds of prey
A lot of birds cross Cyprus during their migration at this time of year. Among these are buzzards which I often see in groups of up to a dozen. They are large birds, dark brown with lighter patches on the underside of the wings and tail. The wings have fairly square ends, the feathers of which are splayed out to look like fingers. They tend to soar in circles, riding the thermals rather than fly. There are plenty of images available - just Google "common buzzard" and select "images".

Re: Birds of prey
Thank you fellow bird watchers !. I hereby announce the winner of my little competition ...drum roll....
from your description ....JBA .....they were most likely Buzzards .
In hindsight it may have made things easier had I mentioned their colouring and beautiful fingerlike
wings .

Having got a pigeon problem-may I ask where you can legitimately purchase an Air Rifle/BB gun/catapult/bazooka?

Re: Birds of prey
You need a clean police report from your home country then you can apply to the police for a license. The hunting equipment shops sell guns.
