Are the shops open in the South Tomorrow?

Is May Day the same as UK? If so it is the first Monday in May so next Monday 7th May is a holiday?

May Day is always May 1st it is UK who always make the holiday on the following Monday!!
The shops will be closed on the South.

Some supermarkets in the North are closing early, Erdener at 12.00 and Erulku, at 11am (I think the notice said).

Supreme don't close or close early for any holiday

Supreme are open 0700 to 1100 only. Shops in south are closed.

Government is cracking down on shops opening today they face a fine if they do.

Deniz1 I think that must be the case. Some years ago I asked Uzden (Mr Supreme) if he would be closed for one of the major Bayrams. He laughed and said, we never close. To be fair, all the family rolled their sleeves up and ran the place. Mind you that was before the big extension doubled the size if the store

Where was the notice - I missed it and so apparently did quite a lot of Cypriots. For those who are desperate, Starling are open , but to the disgust of my dogs do not seem to have any dog bics in stock!

One thing about this country, you never get complacent, it can always surprise one! Why close on Mayday when they are open on religious holidays? (ps don't tell ykw about that!)
