I know this has been asked before but has anyone managed to find an instruction manual for the Alsancak water meters - you don't insert the card into these but scan your card at the end of the meter. Thanks in advance

When we got new meters in Karsiyaka I got an English language copy of the instructions online by typing in the make of the meter to a search engine

Description on manufacturers website but no actual manuals Keith. Alsancak meters seem to be a bit different to other areas - card scans rather than inserting into meter. Put 100tl credit on new meter on Monday, came straight home and it was reading 73.50 credit - left wondering where the other 26.50tl has disappeared to!! Anyone able to enlighten me? Thx

Think the 26.5 TL could be your belediyesi monthly tax. Know they always add mines when i top up my water monthly.

When we were paying by direct debit there was always a 5tl monthly charge and a few extra tl as well over and above the water amount but never as much as this

If you could post the make and model number of the meter, I could see what I can find out...

Might not help but in Lapta you can put as much in tonnes of water as you wish at 6tl per tonne .
The other charges are paid at will .
You put your card into the slot but it is also a "smart card" so only has to be close to the meter, the amount is transferred to the meter but for 3 tonnes which is your emergency if you can not get to top up
Press the button and it will tell you how much water you have ,sometimes you have to press twice.
Hope this helps.

Earlier today I've been up to the local (Lapta) Belediyesi sub-office with my smart card, asked for 10 tons (tonnes?) of water and paid 57.50 TL - receipt is solely for water, no other charges - but I have previously paid council tax, bin charge tax and one or two other charges....
