First, is anyone in the TRNC watching F1 TV yet?
Second, To watch F1 TV I have to state where I will be watching it - so where am I on the great Internet in the World????? Am I in Cyprus or in Turkey - I guess this depends on who supplies my Internet services - for me it is Multimax.
If I say I am in Cyprus then I can only watch F1 TV Access but if I say I am in Turkey I can get the full F1 TV package and stop using NTV and it's stuttering services.
Anyone out there with answers please post.

Re: F1 TV - Question?
Thanks. I have already contacted all of the email addresses listed and sent them each an identical email detailing where I live (In the TRNC, on the Island of Cyprus with a postal address of Turkey and bank account/credit cards registered in a UK address) and asked them to confirm that my account and payments remain valid, I have been an F1.com member for many years already! I explained the problem vis a vis Cyprus/ROC/TRNC without comments but just as fact. I asked that if my Internet services originated in Turkey should I use Turkey as my country of residence and could then receive F1 TV Pro. I explained that I do not receive my Internet services from the RoC so I could not really use Cyprus as my country of residence and that in any case Cyprus customers can not as yet get F1 TV Pro and are limited to F1 TV Access. I received a short reply from them this morning - We can not help you at this time! I will write again but require confirmation that my Internet service comes from Turkey before I start to shout at them - lol.

Re: F1 TV - Question?
There is no simple answer to this unfortunately waddo. There simply is no definitive means or system for connecting a given internet IP address to a given location or country. What there are are lots of different ways that different companies try and derive such information using a variety of different means. There are around 5 or 6 major companies who sell the 'product' of tying a given IP to a given location and country but these can and do often give conflicting result. In addition as well as 'what country is a given IP in' there is the question 'how is internet traffic from a given IP routed'. This is more 'definitive' than 'where is a given IP from geographically' but not the same thing. Your MM connection is routed to the rest of the world via Turkey (as your mail is). The following website may be of use. https://www.iplocation.net/ It will show where each of the major 'geolocation' companies think a given IP address is located geographically and when you click on the link it will give by default the results for the IP address you are currently presenting to the internet (you can try using a VPN and see how that changes the results if you like)..waddo wrote:I will write again but require confirmation that my Internet service comes from Turkey before I start to shout at them - lol.

Re: F1 TV - Question?
Understood, many thanks. I will wait for Liberty to sort out their problems and just leave well enough alone for this season.

Re: F1 TV - Question?
But rigsby, for exactly the same reason I never bother to watch football, parliamentary discussions, soap operas and even Royal weddings, most of which are also processional and all of which are entirely predictable so what would be the point? However, the vast changes in rules and equipment that have beset F1 races over the past three years have almost ensured that no single race can remain predictable nor processional unless the safety car is deployed at the start and remains there till the end of the race - even then you have drivers such as Vettel who must have learnt his braking skills in Cyprus always likely to liven up the procession by either trying to gain advantage by driving over the car in front or by coming alongside and knocking it out of the way. There is much more to F1 than just the race itself, FP1, FP2, FP3 and the unmissable Qualifications can prove far more interesting and exciting than the actual race and that is leaving out the technical side of the entire event! Channel 4 are indeed broadcasting 9 live races this year, from Friday through Sunday for each one. But next year is a different matter all together, once F1 TV Pro is available worldwide it is quite possible that only "Liberty" will be broadcasting live races across the Internet. Better to stay ahead of the game if the game is your passion, as it is mine.
