Buying a Ceiling fan

Can anyone please tell me where I can buy a good quality remote controlled ceiling fan.

We bought all of ours from Elektrokur by the roundabout in Girne. Very good quality and they are the same fans and same price as Leroy Merlin. They are German, extremely quiet and remote controlled. They were £150.

Try Tekzen at the Airport Mall. Bought one for the kitchen last year and am sure it was around the equivalent of £80 at the time, but without remote. They did have cheaper ones. You do need to buy lengths of beaded pull, which you can probably get there too. Can't understand why all ceiling fans are supplied with such piddly little pulls.

Personally, I'd go for one with 5 or more blades, as I have a couple of 4 bladed brought from the UK, and whilst they are good enough, the one I got last year is better.

Bloss. No we don't think so. They have lasted eight years so far and they are whisper quiet. You get what you pay for. They have five blades and are very effective. We have two dogs so they are on night and day every day.
You pay your money and you take your choice. We chose German over local Chinese.

So Panchochat duly went to Elextrocur today to research German remote controlled ceiling fans. Notice they seem to have changed somewhat but still claim to be the same firm. They looked blank at me when I asked about these fans.
Saw a selection in the basement but no German remote controlled. Mostly Turlish made which we have and a chinese one or two. Was it the local Girne store you bought them or the main showroom in Lefoska. Tecktan have silver Chinese ceiling fans but are awaiting the remote controlled units. Most shops seem to have the five bladed fans with a slatted finish that we bought years ago and I must say have worked very well. Just wanted a change and on high ceilings they are difficult to reach. You must have been lucky and were there when the boat came in. Thanks anyway for the info.

Sorry to hear that. We bought three more of them for a neighbour at the end of last summer. Not sure how to upload a picture for you. They are silver with shaped curved blades not slatted. They really are very good. We bought them at the Girne store. PM me your e mail address and I will see if I can send you a picture. Did you speak to the man in charge at Elektrokur, he is who we dealt with.

Follow the signs for Larnaca Airport, but carry straight on when you get to the roundabout with the coloured balls on it - that is, take the second exit, rather than the third exit.

Continue on to the next roundabout, and go 'all the way around it' so that you are heading back the way that you just came, and immediately take the slip road on your left, which will take you into Leroy Merlin.

If anyone is going to Leroy Merlin, please let me know how much their petrol driven hedge trimmers are. They sell cheap electric trimmers for 24.95 euros but my gardener wants one which is petrol fueled.
