For some time now the Prime Minister, İrsen Küçük, and the President, Derviş Eroğlu, have not been best of buddies ... and this would seem to be the reason why Küçük's wife, Gülin, refused to stand up to greet Eroğlu and his wife when they arrived to take up their positions at the ceremony this morning. On the news web sites they are writing "büyük saygısızlık" ("immense disrespect") and "cok ayıp" ("shame on her") for not standing.
It would seem to me that this reaction amongst TCs is a little over the top, but I suppose it would be similar in the UK if, say, Samantha Cameron refused to stand to greet the Queen and Phil.
On this news web site you can see a Youtube video of the incident :

Unfortunately though for me, Youtube is banned here in China

Kucuk is a disgrace to his family name. This slight just about sums up his attitude. It does not matter about personal feelings in public arenas like this respect is to the post of President and wife not Mr & Mrs Eroglu.
