RBL Summer Gala - Thank You

Hi

Can I just thank all of the hundreds of guests that attended this year's Royal British Legion Summer Gala and made it such a success - great atmosphere, lots of dancing and lots of money raised for this year's Poppy Appeal (what a generous lot you are!! )

So sorry we had to move the dates at short notice (but the predicted rain did fall the previous week and we would have been washed out) and I hope those who couldn't make it because of the change will be there for next year's Gala.

Can also thank the many others that helped with the event by getting some big tables together and inviting their friends along... to Soner and the Kibkom Team for advertising the event... Best Seller Bookshops and Olive Press Bowling Club for ticket sales... the many restaurants who provided 'Dining Experience' prizes including Erols and Tim's Café (Ozankoy), Chimera café and Bar (Old Harbour), The Fez (Catalkoy), Bellapais Gardens, Efendis (Old Turkish Quarter) and others - plus Colin Jeffries for providing the many bottles of (real!!) champagne on the night.

I hope that all that came (and were going to come) can come and support us again next year - the entertainment was fabulous (they have promised to come and put on another super show next year) and The Savoy Ottoman Palace Hotel will provide the beautiful poolside venue again.

A few more RBL events to come so keep an eye out - but have a great Summer and see you all again next year!!!!!!

Lovely evening but personally, having seen the Crusts, excellent though they are, for the last 3 years at this event, I would like to see some different artists performing.
Andy himself said, at the end of the performance, that they would come and watch next year as he thought it was tIme to give someone else a chance.
Surely it would have been better to wait until the euphoric atmosphere of the event had died down before rushing in to change their minds and book them again. Just my opinion of course, but one I have heard from others too.
