Where does TRNC rubbish go??

We had heard before that rubbish is taken to Famagusta & put on ships but a friend said it was then 'dumped at sea'.
Is this correct?

I always thought it was a landfill site at Dikmen
The way the mountain is being blasted we will need every bit of filling to stay afloat

There is definitely a huge landfill site at Dikmen bit whether this is big enough to take all the rubbish I do not know

Is it Dikmen that is supposed to be very nearly full and keeps bursting into flames every so often or is their more than one dump in that area. If you Google the question, most of the answer is there and it doesn't make pleasant reading.

The coast road travelling east from the Bahceli crossword until opposite Crystal Bay complex is a disgrace. Dumped, broken cars, old tyres and heaps of builders rubble and household rubbish. Does the Esentepe Belediye Baskani care? Doubtful!

TRNC has no ships for transporting domestic waste for dumping at sea.... but other countries in the med do.... Syria and Libya are possibly responsible.

There is a massive new EU funded landfill site that is properly run... we visit the site as it's a hotspot for bird-watching
