Was it not 3 tl when the exchange rate was about 2.25 so making it £1.33 then, & now at the rate of 6.10 it's £1.69 so only another 36 p !!! I bet the beer & fags have gone up similar so have you stopped buying them as well ?

Was just pointing that out & as most folk have a tipple maybe birthday or Christmas or at a wedding etc it was an example , but if you don’t smoke or drink I would have thought another 30p odd will break the bank , I’m sure there overheads are massive & all though not everything has risen a lot has.

Karl,
It was 2 tl when rate was 2.25 making it about 90p. It is now 10TL with a rate of 6tl to the £ which makes it £1.66.
That is a 90% increase in 10 years for some bits of inky paper with a lot of rubbish between the front and back page!!!

P.S. I cant get beer and fags online for free!

it always makes me smile when I glance over the front page as generally all headlines say turn to page 6 therefore to me only page 1 and 6 have news.
In my eyes not worth 10tl but I will miss the 'experts' who read this paper and make it gospel and by repeating the stories several times they may come true if they stop buying it.

and in their defence its an easy paper to read and I can check up on acquaintances in the social part.

The secret of doing the crossword on line but not get Tippex on your screen is to use a pencil - problem solved. I reckon a huge proportion if people buying C2D are those people who appear time after time at just about every pub and restaurant you can think of. I suspect some of them also wish the photographer had not turned up!!!

Cyprus Today not worth 10 TL?
Where else can you read last weeks news from Britain, loads of stuff about the Premier League, and Stephen Day banging on about the glory days of goof old Maggie. T. and the British Empire?..................on second thoughts you have a point.

Good Job Kib Kom, Cyprium News, Cyprus Mail and and Cyprusscene are all free online. Mind you none of them carry detailed reports on last week's brithday parties like the good ol' Cyprus Toady!
