Another sickness for NHS to treat or not?

The NHS now makes a lot of people wait until they are nearly blind before performing a cataract
Ditto ...................................................... nearly crippled before performing hip and knee replacements

BUT the World Health Organisation has declared Sex Addicts have a mental disorder in that patients cannot control their sexual urges. This means the NHS is free (If they wish) to treat them providing they have suffered at least six months of compulsive sexual urges and also considerable distress. There are of course medical experts who don't believe that sex can be classed as a compulsion.

Line up in a orderly line and wait your turn in the queue please at your nearest UK GP.!!

There are hundreds of Sex Addicts Anonymous and Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous meetings all over the world. I assume those who go to these meetings have a serious problem and are not there to exchange phone numbers, well not in that way anyway. People like the convicted taxi driver in the news recently, and those who rape and murder women (and men) get to that stage over a period of time, seeking a bigger thrill than the last time, so we're told. So yes, sex addiction is an illness as much as any other addiction and can cause just as much pain to the sufferer.

I do agree however, Sophie, that nobody should be left in pain awaiting an operation.

Don't know about sex side but my GP has quoted me 16 weeks wait to have my arthritic knee(s) done.
